Saakashvili preparing to return to Ukraine

The former president of Georgia and former governor of the Odessa region, Mikhail Saakashvili is getting ready to come back to the country that deported him not too long ago. "I am preparing to return to Ukraine; Ukrainian students should prepare for my return to Ukraine," the politician said on NewsOne on Friday, March 30.

Saakashvili is presently travelling through Europe on a mission for tourism education. "Several meetings are planned in the next few days. In a couple of days I will meet with a large group of Ukrainians who study at European tourist institutes. We gather students from several tourism educational institutions across Europe. We are transporting them to one place with the help of the Ukrainian diaspora, and we will hold a seminar on the prospects of tourism in Ukraine with them," the politician said.

On February 12, Saakashvili was detained in Kyiv and then deported to Warsaw, ostensibly because he was in the country illegally, having had his Ukrainian citizenship revoked by President Poroshenko. He later turned up in the Netherlands and received an ID card there.
