Top-official from the Yanukovych era was appointed to Ukraine's anti-corruption committee
A corrupt official from the era of former President Viktor Yanukovych, Andriy Skibiak, was appointed as a chief consultant to the anti-corruption committee, as reported by the Anti Corruption Action Centre on their Facebook page.
It was noted that Skibiak worked for the Lviv tax authorities, then later in the tax service of the Transcarpathian region, and in 2007 he became the Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations under Nestor Shufrych. Skibiak then worked as the first deputy head of the Control and Revision Department of Kyiv, and then was the head of the State Audit Service of the Mykolaiv region.
"It would seem that Maidan washed those such as Skibiak off into the dumpster of history, but no! The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, ordered the former deputy of the Party of Regions to purchase medicines using the captial’s budget. The Anti Corruption Action Centre found that he managed to buy medicines for cancer patients for a price several times higher than the corrupt Ministry of Healthcare at that time," the report says.
According to the Centre, Skibiak himself owns a 100 square meter apartment in Lviv and an officially unfinished mansion and a garage near Lviv that take up 500 square meters.
"His wife has a 264 square meter house in Lviv and a garage in a new building. A simple worker, Skibiak’s 74-year-old father, has a 106 square meters apartment and registered literally a few weeks ago a 112 square meter apartment in a new building in Lviv. His 72-year-old mother, like any ordinary worker, during her life saved for an apartment with an area of 86 squares on Lobanovsky Avenue in Kyiv. Skibiak’s daughter Ivanna, a student at the medical university, since May this year owns a 83 square house in Lviv and a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta," the report states.
