Ukraine considerably increased imports of good from Russia in the first 11 months of 2017
During an 11 month period in 2017, Ukraine increased its imports of goods from Russia (in monetary terms, compared to the same period in 2016) by 38.6%, to $ 6.3 billion, the National Bank of Ukraine reports.
At the same time, exports of goods to Russia during this period increased by 11.9% to $ 3.06 billion, while overall trade turnover increased by 28.6% to $ 9.36 billion.
The balance of trade with the Russian Federation for the first 11 months of last year was negative for Ukraine and amounted to $ 3.24 billion, which is 79% lower than during the same period in 2016.
According to the NBU, during the same period, the export of goods from Ukraine to the EU increased by 32.7% to $ 12.77 billion, imports by 23.9%, to $ 16.51 billion, and trade turnover - by 27.6%, to $ 29.28 billion, while the balance remained negative at $ 3.7 billion.
The NBU notes that Russia’s share of exported goods from Ukraine decreased from 9.1% to 8.5%, while imports increased from 12.6% to 14.3%. The EU’s share of exports increased from 31.9% to 35.3% and in imports from 36.9% to 37.5%.
In general, the export of goods from Ukraine from January to November 2017 increased by 20.1% to $ 36.19 billion, imports by 21.8% to $ 44.03, and the negative balance worsened by 30.2% to $7.84 billion.
Earlier it was reported that about 13,000 Ukrainian enterprises export products to the EU market.
