Kerry claims that the United States spent more than $3 billion on countering Russian aggression
The U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry, stated at a recent press conference that the United States has been consistent in the support of its allies and partners in Europe against the background of threats which emerged from the outbreak of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, and that the U.S. had spent more than $3 billion on this support, Ukrinform reported.
“We strongly advocated for and supported Ukraine in transatlantic space. We responded to Russian provocations by extending support to our allies in Northern and Central Europe,” Kerry said. He noted that $3.4 billion is no small amount for the United States to spend on “assisting friends on the front lines in order to help them to build their defense and guarantee their security.”
On that same night, the U.S. Senator from South Carolina, Lindsey Graham, rebuked President-elect Donald Trump for turning a blind eye to threats from Russia.
