Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs: NATO has much to learn from Ukraine
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said in an interview with Profil that Ukraine could benefit NATO.
"The Western alliance must prepare for new challenges, and with Ukraine it will be easier than without us ... We have shown that we fight for our country. We are no longer an easy target. This applies not only to supplies or our experience with the Russians' hybrid war. Our NATO partners can learn a lot from us: tactics, endurance, and combat readiness. Without these qualities, modern weapons will be of no help," the Foreign Minister noted.
Additionally, Klimkin commented on the issue of Ukraine's accession to the EU. According to him, this will happen when both sides are ready.
"The perception of Ukraine in the EU three years after Maidan has changed dramatically, in a positive direction. There is support. But does the EU do enough for Ukraine? Perhaps not entirely,” stressed the minister.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on securing Ukraine's membership in NATO as a foreign policy priority.
Klimkin has previously said that Ukrainian Army will reach all NATO standards by 2020.
