NATO intends to allow Ukrainian military companies to participate in bidding
The NATO Support and Procurement Agency has proposed to include Ukrainian defense-industrial companies in the list of defense products manufacturers. Thus, the state-run enterprise Ukroboronprom can obtain permission to participate in bidding for the supply of goods and services to NATO member nations and partners within the framework of the random brokerage services program. This was reported on Ukroboronprom’s website.
“Ukraine is the first among the Eastern European partners of NATO which have been offered this opportunity, and this is a testament to NATO’s recognition of and deepening confidence in the capabilities of our country’s defense industry,” notes the mission of Ukraine to NATO, and added that the preparation of relevant additions to the legal framework for the regulation of Ukraine's cooperation with the NATO Support and Procurement Agency has already begun.
The subsidiaries of Ukroboronprom are actively moving toward international quality standards; 70% of them have already received ISO 9001 certification, and the AQAP 2000 management and quality assurance system is being introduced.
Forty member companies of Ukroboronprom have been granted access to the NATO Master Catalogue of References for Logistics. This tool allows domestic military industry companies to enter the international arms market and implement the import substitution program. Access to the catalog helped Ukroboronprom to quickly find European suppliers to replace Russian suppliers.
