The U.S. Senate supported the allocation of $350 million for aid to Ukraine
Following the House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate overwhelmingly approved the 2017 National Defense budget of the United States, which provides for the allocation of $350 million to assisting Ukraine, the press service of Ukrainian Embassy in the United States reported on Facebook.
According to the report, the funds allocated to providing Ukraine with security assistance, including lethal weapons, were increased by $50 million.
The list of types of assistance was expanded to include funds and technical support for development of an integral monitoring system for Ukraine’s state border and for assistance in training staff officers and the High Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The document has yet to be signed by the U.S. President.
