U.S. Ambassador in Kyiv: We will stand by Ukraine regardless of who is president
The US will continue to be Ukraine’s partner regardless of the elections result. Radio Svoboda reported that this was stated by the US Ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch, on the morning of the 9th of November.
“One thing I'm quite certain about is that no matter who the next commander in chief is, through the transition period and through the next administration, the United States will remain a strong partner of Ukraine,” Yovanovitch said while speaking to the press at the US Embassy in Kyiv.
The diplomat strongly believes that sanctions against Russia, due to its aggression towards Ukraine, will remain in place.
