Ukraine agrees with NATO on the establishment of a new command system for the Ukrainian military
Ukraine agrees with the NATO military alliance on the establishment of a new command and control system, the C4ISR, as part of their Armed forces, as the head of the Ukrainian parliamentary delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Iryna Friz, told journalists, Xinhua reports.
"We are working on an agreement regarding the need to establish the C4ISR command and control system as part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It will be a real revolution for our army," Friz said.
The C4ISR system includes command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems for the Armed Forces. According to Friz, NATO’s support for Ukraine under a Comprehensive Package of Assistance helped Kyiv to step up the implementation of reforms in the security and defense sectors.
The establishment of the C4ISR system is part of the Strategic Defense Bulletin of Ukraine which defines the development of the defense sector through 2021.
Earlier, the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, stated that the alliance will continue to support Ukraine.
