Ukraine and Poland agree to expand military cooperation

The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (RNBO) of Ukraine, Oleksandr Turchynov, and the head of the National Security Bureau (BBN) of Poland, Paul Solokh, agreed that the two countries will continue to expand cooperation between their military departments and intelligence agencies, as stated at the end of their talks in Kyiv, the Press Service of the RNBO reported.

"The leaders of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and the National Security Bureau of Poland expressed the importance of the further deepening of the bilateral cooperation between the defense ministries and the intelligence agencies of Ukraine and Poland and the expansion of military-technical cooperation. Within the framework of the transition of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to NATO standards they also discussed the issue of cooperation with Poland," the message stated.

The parties commended the work of the Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian brigade, which this summer participated in the international military exercise, Anakonda-2016, in Poland. "With the aim of combining the efforts of defense companies and coordinating the work within existing projects as well as to create new projects, Ukraine proposed to establish a joint permanent contact and coordination group," the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council stated.
