US Air Force plane again flew close to Russia's border over the Baltic Sea
An RC-135W strategic reconnaissance aircraft from the US Air Force made another approach towards the Kaliningrad region on Monday on a reconnaissance mission, according to sites that track the movement of military aircraft, Interfax reported.
A US military aircraft, with the tail number 62-4139 and call sign WOMP17, reportedly left the Mildenhall airbase in the UK at 9:40 am Moscow time, and approached the border of the Kaliningrad region from the Baltic Sea side at nearly 1:00 pm, while carrying out radio-technical reconnaissance of Russian territory.
The route of the US Air Force strategic reconnaissance aircraft after departure from Great Britain was over the waters of the North Sea and Denmark.
Along with it, a Gulfstream IV, the Swedish reconnaissance aircraft, tail number 102003 and call sign SVF623, approached the Kaliningrad region from the sea. It made two flights along the entire coast of the region on an elongated ellipse.
In recent months, the intensity of US spy planes near the Russian border has sharply increased, in particular, over the Baltic Sea, near the coast of the Crimea, as well as near Russian bases in Syria and over Russian naval warships in the Eastern Mediterranean. Up to two or three or even more such flights are registered almost every day.
