Speaker of Ukrainian Parliament signs the law on tours of Russian performers in Ukraine
On October 20th, the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Andriy Parubiy, signed the law "On tour events in Ukraine," according to which Russian performers must pass a check on Ukrainian legislation’ violations, as well as laws "On the basic principles of ensuring cybersecurity of Ukraine" and "On electronic confidential services."
The law on tours provides for a ban on carrying out activities if there is a person who is on the list of people posing a threat to national security.
If the participant of the tour is a citizen of the aggressor country, the organizer must submit to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) a request to determine the presence or absence of legal grounds to prevent the citizen of the aggressor country to participate in the event, not later than 30 days before the day of the tour.
The SBU within 10 days from the receiving the request should consider it and provide the tour organizer with a response on the presence or absence of legal grounds for preventing the citizen of the aggressor country to take part in the tour.
All three documents are sent to the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko to be signed.
On October 5th, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the law according to which Russian artists can tour Ukraine only after it is approved by the Security Service of Ukraine.
