Polish Prime Minister: after Ukraine Russia will attack Poland and Baltic States
On Friday, March 9th, in Vilnius, the Polish Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, gave a press-conference after this meeting with his colleagues from Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. During the interview with journalists, Morawiecki remembered the words of the President Lech Kaczyński who died in a plane crash in the Russian Federation, who predicted that the Russian aggression in the world will progress.
As Ukrinform news agency reports, Morawiecki stated that Kaczyński’s predictions remain relevant even today. As the President said, Russia didn’t stop at Georgia and has taken on Ukraine.
“I reminded my colleagues of the words of President Lech Kaczyński that first – Georgia, then Ukraine, and soon it will be Poland and Baltic States. There is no doubt that we should be peace-seeking but not naive at the same time, and we should build up and strengthen the Transatlantic alliance on the eastern flank, and that is what we are doing with our partners from Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia,” Morawiecki stated.
The Polish Prime Minister also noted that his country continues to make every effort to achieve gas independence from Russia. According to Morawiecki, the leadership of Poland is now negotiating the construction of the Baltic gas pipeline with Scandinavian countries.
In an interview with journalists, Morawiecki said that he was discussing the Russian Nord Stream-2 project with his colleagues from the Baltic States, as it poses a threat to this European region. The Prime Ministers once again agreed that the Baltic States should work together for infrastructure development in the energy sector to achieve energy independence.
